I remember my childhood growing up in a small eastern Tennessee town we had 3 thing 1) High School Football 2) University of Tennessee and 3) Trucking. I remember looking at those big trucks and was amazed and my Amazement worked its way into True Love of the Industry and even though I'm out right now my brothers and sisters have never turned their backs on me. Now that's brotherhood and sisterhood.

I left High School and Got my GED and went to college for Criminal Justice but, I eventually found myself being a Steering Wheel Holder. Graduating Trucking School was a Great Accomplishment. Truck Driving School only teaches you enough to pass your CDL Exam and costs between $2,000 to $5,000 plus meals depending on where you go to school. My personal advise is to go to a company that pays for it and pay your dues there. There's a lot of Room for Advancement but you gotta start at the bottom.

Here's some of what you will need to know just to pass your CDL Exam.
In most states to be classified as a drunk driver is 0.08 like in my home state of Tennessee. That's not so for anyone that operates a CMV (Commercial Motor Vehicle). Whether you are in a CMV or your personal vehicle is 0.04. I personally can see while in a CMV cause that is a big ass weapon but, so is a personal vehicle but, as a driver you wont ever be treated fairly by any Governmental Agency because you are a Truck Driver. Speaking of DUI you never hear of a Truck Driver getting a 3rd or 4th DUI. A 1st Offence for at least 3 years if Occurred in a CMV that is placarded for Hazardous Materials and a minimum of 1 year for first Offence of the Following :
1)Driving a CMV with a BAC of 0.04 or higher.
2)Driving a CMV while under the Influence of alcohol
3)Driving a Vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance
4) Leaving the scene of an accident involving a CMV
5)Committing a felony involving the use of a CMV
6)Driving a CMV while CDL is suspended
7)Causing a fatality through negligent operation of a CMV
8)Refusing a BAC Test

A 2nd offence of any of the above will cost you your CDL for life. You will lose your CDL for Life if you commit a felony involving controlled substances, you will be put out of service for 24 hours if you have any detectable amount of alcohol under 0.04%.
